Cheers pal.
Waiting on paint on my Touran bumper and I can get that fitted along with my genuine 2008 Sportline bib, and trying to source a bumper that I can salvage a rear diffuser from for a cut n shut rear bumper.

Cut a new 3mm ply headlining using the original as a template but extended it by 10mm to cover the slots from the bulkhead.
Then made a plinth to accept my remote, colour changing 5m LED ribbon and framed it in carpet. I then cut back my original headliner to make a smaller headliner about 40mm smaller all round to give a light halo effect. Then covered the lower headliner in carpet before fitting LED spots. I still need to wire them in and add a few stainless button switches.

Took a pic of the roof panel in the daylight.

Purchased a late caddy rear bumper and also bought a rear Citroen DS3 bumper from eBay so I could cut n shut the diffuser.
So today I made a start. Diffuser was 220mm too wide and would foul the reflectors so I cut and sectioned it. First time using the plastic welder and I’m impressed. I bought the whole bumper and not just the diffuser as I wanted it removable not just fibreglasses into one piece.

Not sure if it should have been fitted higher up? I’ll persevere and see how it pans out.

My front bumper is currently being painted so looking forward to getting that back and fitted.

Hello mate, good work with the headlining looks great.

And good on you for giving the plastic welding a crack. I have a mk4 bumper that’s been sat in my shed for 6months as I myself have been debating giving a custom rear bumper a go myself. IMO I would have fitted the rear diffuser higher so it covered the recess of the original bumper

Cheers for your input.

Yeah was thinking the same myself. I’ve run out of staples so bought 1000 for £9 on eBay, back offshore this week so it’ll have to wait till I get back now. I think I’m gonna cut the staples, redraw the cut line above under the swage line and move it up 30mm. I think it’ll look ok.
Only issue will be I’ll have to separate the inner and reinforcement skin from the outer then modify that before it goes back in.
I may still purchase a bumper crash bar too so it’ll fit without issues.

It’s all trial and error these things. Looking forward to seeing it finished and on the van.

Sorry to see about the front bumper. Rotten bloody luck.

Cheers Guy, thankfully the bumper escaped unscathed. I’ve bought 2 new wings on the bay for £90. The other wing was rusting anyway so that’ll be the front finished once they’re painted, then on to the rear bumper.

Finally managed to code my cruise control after a bit of trial and error. I’d totally missed the step of activating the CC in the engine control module.
