@hef355 im so sorry to hear about your loss a touching send of in the beautiful looking red caddy pick up. I hop all is getting a bit easier as from experience its not easy loosing your mum. It still hits home sometimes for me after 6 years.
Hope you and your family are well and keeping strong.

All the best1

Great project, do you know how much payload capacity you lost after getting rid of the rear solid axle?

How did you attached the swingarms to the chassis? Did you extended the original arms, made them straight and mounted those to the leaf spring brackets? Could you post some pictures please?

Wow just wow, that is an amazing bit of kit you have put together. Hopefully it’s a kick up the arse that I need to get mine back up and running.

My apologies for not responding to all the kind comments from you all for 2023!

I haven’t been on the forum as much these days and for some reason don’t get any alerts! Only come across these now after checking something i’d forgotten on my build lol!

The van is still alive but has been off the road for a while in storage; but as soon as time allows it will have some work done and make another fresh debut!

Plans are …
1. Mk4 look upgrade with led lights, or keep mk3 look and upgrade front bumper to mk8 golf clubsport hybrid bumper

2. Get the interior finished to show standard with decent sounds

3. Upgrade rear brakes to match front TTRS’s

4. Power upgrade - either Turbo charge my current 3.6 engine and keep the rare factor or …
I may sell the 3.6 engine and all the ancillary bits as a package for another Caddy and go whole hog and RS3 8P power my van with 7 speed dq500 box

5. Time before I get too old to do and enjoy the above haha!!

Wish me luck my friends but I will be back … as Arnie once said

Sorry for delay in response!

Yes, attached the arms to the relocated chassis legs and made brackets for them. Did think of extending the arms to use the existing leaf brackets but wanted it to look oem so new brackets were made instead. Here are some pics for you budImage
