Toffee delights

Post by Lister79 »

Got sent some sneak peak photos of my machined and finished wheels last week, they just need to go through testing and certification then they will be dispatched, hopefully another few week should see them here.
Can’t believe how quick they have done them compared to the 12-16 week quote, perhaps because I supplied the initial design and knew exactly what I wanted or perhaps because it’s mid show season so not so many orders in Image.
Really happy with how they look, hopefully I’ll get them all coated and fit for Tatton Park. Image

Wheel spec is 2 piece, 8.5x20” ET48.

MOT carried out today, passed with no issues Image, but found a few fixings that aren’t looking new anymore so I’ll have to get some more ordered.

Bumpers are still in the body shop hence why the original front is fit.

Attention to detail on this build is crazy! :D

Love all the yellow details too, calipers and belts are on my to-do list.

My wife gave me some time off the house this weekend. I was wanting it so I could refit my bumpers but unfortunately they are still at the body shop (they hadn’t even been started on Friday Image). So decided to make use of the time and modify my rear arch liners. After seeing the fillets @dan@bialy removed from his (to get the rear lower), I decided to do something similar by cutting the parts out then adding sections back (used my old liners for the pieces) to change the shape of the liner so that they hug the arch and the sides are flat. Took way too long, but I’m happy enough with how they come out eventually (except some of the plastic welding). Hopefully they will give me maximum clearance for when my new wheels come and still full coverage of the liner to keep all the mud out.

Sanded down, I added tiger seal to the welds after this but didn’t get a photo.

Added some star lights to the front headlining/storage compartment to tie in with the ones in the rear. Came out well however the light unit is a different type to the one I used in the back and the white light is slightly different (more white), therefore I’ll have to try and find another the same as the rear Image.
