Centralising plates

Post by Caddy Carper »

I’ve just had my caddy dropped and the garage did not install the centralising plates I supplied. (they do not do this kind of work generally)

The wheels do sit a little bit forward. Is it worth having the plates installed or is this about right for how they should sit?

And if they should be fitted is there anyone in the Gloucestershire/ Midlands area that can help?

Tia

Centralising plates will help pull that back to the centre of the arch definitely.
Something to note though is that, due to the way the rear arch liners are shaped, you will probably rub a hole through them if you do move the axle back.

Doesn't really make any difference to anything - just to take into consideration if you're bothered by that sort of thing.

+1 for centralising plates.

You’ll find the wheels will rub the arch liners only if you have very wide wheels or you’re going really low. I have no issues with mine.
