I expect to be sleeping in my van quite a bit in some colder places. I’ll have a mini electric heater and I may boil water inside too.
A maxxair fan looks perfect but I think maybe overkill for such a small van?
Any other recommendations appreciated.
Thanks

Re: Maxxair fan overkill for a Maxi?
What I’ve done with mine is drill a few 15mm holes low down in the bulkhead. If I sleep in mine, I open with front windows an inch or so. The wind deflectors will keep any rain out.
I think it’s better than installing a fan.

I don’t have a bulkhead in my maxi, and find that the open windows + wind deflectors as mentioned above works just fine.
I’ve also got a prop for the tailgate to allow it to open about 40mm which really helps when it’s wet.

Thanks guys. I got the same suggestion from Unique Vans so great to hear the same thing. Wind deflectors are quite a bit cheaper than a Maxxair

I slept in the back of my van up in Scotland last winter on our way to Edinburgh it was minus 5 outside although it was a bit cold in the van we weren't to bad in a sleeping bag at that time I didn't have any insulation or heating the only problem I found then was a small draught coming through the barn doors no that problem has been addressed with insulation we don't have a problem still no heater as we would find it too warm at night

I’d say overkill, I used a small fiamma 280 on my lt35 and it was plenty, that was full time living. It has constant airflow even when closed and can open fully when cooking. Great little vent that would suit the caddy.

+1 for wind deflectors and crack the glass a bit open.
+1 for tailgate standoff for extra summer ventilation.
I also have a pair of Mk5 California front window vents that give a little bit more ventilation than just cracking with deflectors, and prevent mosquito intrusion (Scotland, Norway, etc.) - Minor mod to fit Mk3/4.
