Hey guys, new to the forum and just got back into caddy ownership with a 2017 150dsg. I’d like to do a TG conversion and I know the mk4 tailgate is visually different but can someone tell me if all the loom, catches, latches and roof hinge panel are the same please as earlier models please
Cheers

Re: Tailgate conversion
If your van is 2017 model year, I would assume it is a mk4??

Correct, it is a mk4! But I’m wondering if I can get all the bits and pieces out of another (earlier) van that’s being broken and then just by a mk4 TG panel! Broadens my search area then for parts then.

Re: Tailgate conversion
You’ll certainly need Mk4 tailgate specific tail lights as they’re a slightly different shape to the ones for barn doors.
Also, the latch on a Mk4 tailgate is electronic instead of mechanical (as found on older vans) so I’d imagine a Mk4 loom would be required… happy to be corrected by someone more knowledgeable though!
