Can anyone put me in the right direction for getting the mk4 tailgate wired and coded to 2007 caddy.
Loads of people say it’s easy and been done but never keen on helping out.
Needing it sorted so I can get the van moted.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Tailgates
Hi Marty,
You can download the wiring diagrams for your van from the likes of Erwin, https://erwin.volkswagen.de/erwin/showHome.do. Costs about £8 for an hour and you’ll be able to download all the wiring diagrams as well as any other maintenance procedures you think you might use in the future. Pop in your VIN and Erwin will pull up your vans info.
You’ll also be able to download the diagrams for a mk4 and use them to compare and match up.
I used Erwin when I was researching for my engine swap.

Re: Tailgates
Can do it for both of you. Done 10-15 of these now, Coding and wiring.
Based just outside High Wycombe. Depending on whats been done with the wiring, can take anywhere between 15 minutes and 2 hours.
In terms of a 2007, you may need a newer BCM to be able to control the electric mech.

Re: Tailgates
Hi Dan, im in the process of buying a mk4 tailgate for my 56 plate caddy, already have a tailgate version.
Would you be able to help with what wiring i will need for the latch? Tailgate has the looms in it but has been snipped off at the top
Thanks,
Clayton
