Engine cover mounting problem

Post by Raph71 »

My engine cover is just laid like this. It is not fixed because the small plastic pin of the external element supposed to hold everything is currently sailing freely in the hole of the rocker arm cover. Do I have the wrong engine cover or is there a rubber piece that fits to block everything? If so, does anyone have the part number? I would like to take advantage of my change of front face to completely clean my engine, which has not been done since the purchase of my Caddy 10 years ago Image and I would like to take the opportunity to put good insulation back under the cover, the paint and fix it properly this time. In the how to parts Numbers section, I found 07C 103 226. Would that be okay? I’ve a Doubs..Image Image

Can you show which engine cover you have? Or do you know the part number (its usually on a sticker or marked on the bottom)?

There should be a small rubber grommet in there to secure the cover pin.

It should look like this… I don’t know the part number though. I swapped the engine out last year

@C Chris

yes, it’s definitely a rubber part but what I found on web (reference on my first post) does not seem to be the correct one. Putting the pics here at Dan's request, I just thought I'll try to find the part on the ETKA schémas from the plastic cover codes. To be continued!..

I think the part number you need is 038103638k. this comes up as suitable for the BLS engine. You'd need to do a little bit more research before buying though.
