Hey,
So the key on the left only works in the ignition barrel and the key on the right only works on the doors outside.
When I use the key on the outside it unlocks all the doors and locks all the doors as it should but none of the buttons work on either of the keys.
It’s been like this since I picked the van up but now I’m looking to getting it to lock and unlock off the keys, I’ve changed the batteries in both the keys, I have red flashing lights on the keys but nothing on the van, is it a easy way to program them back together? Or is this a job for a specialist?
The key on the right is not a remote for the central locking, if it's got a battery in its for a led light.
The left hand key is the remote for the central locking.
If it's not working there might be an issue with the key or the control module in your caddy. This will require some specialist tools to diagnose.

Thank you Doc, i had a slight hope that it would be something as simple as ‘press the same button 3 times while standard on your one leg’
Specialist it is

That method looks like it's for a mk4 Golf platform car so it may not work on your caddy. Worth a try but I wouldn't hold my breath on it working.

Off the top of my head, depending on model and year the caddy needs all doors shut with you in it, ignition on, press and hold lock button until somthing happens (I think the hazards flash) but usually no more than 20 seconds.
It should be in your caddy handbook if you've got one.
An auto locksmith will be able to do it otherwise.
Where you based?

I’ll try that once I’m home, definitely worth a try.

Hey,
So I’m taking the van to a auto locksmith this morning but before I go I was wondering,
Does all 2007 Vw caddy’s have central locking off key fobs, is that standard?
I’m guessing the van used to have it if the key for the ignition also have the buttons on the key… maybe?
I can't recall ever seeing a 2k caddy which didn't have remote central locking from the factory.

It did have remote central locking, the auto locksmith could get the remote key to pair easy enough but once paired it wouldn’t work under command. Tried 3 different keys and they all paired easily but again wouldn’t work under command.
Something to do with the receiving side? I now don’t know what direction to go, an auto electrician? Any help is appreciated
Try a VW specialist, you'll likely need to source a replacement CCM (Central Convenience Module) as it sounds like yours has a fault.
Maybe someone to read fault codes first would be a good start.
