Hi, apologies for not replying to thread had forgot password to account so never replied until I saw your message in my emails.
In the end it was the fuse/relay module to the right of the battery. Remove it with one fixing in the middle (think it’s T30) and till lift straight off it’s connector that is on the bottom.
My suspicion was that as it’s directly above the ns wheel that overtime water has ingresses and corroded the contact on the ECM power relay and caused intermittent issues.
You can grab them for £10 ish on eBay. Just put in the long part no from the back of yours. You may struggle to find one with the exact same part no as yours but as long as it’s got the same fuses & same relays in the same place then you should be fine. Mine didn’t match no’s and was missing a relay that my only one had but worked completely fine.
Any questions ask and il reply now apologies again
Cheers. Charlie.
Any chance you have a pic of the part you mention here?
I have a BLS engined A3 and think this could be the source of some errors -however, the layout is a little different so the pic would really help me.
Hi mate, sorry for long response. Pretty sure they’re in the same place in the a3. Just to right of battery. It should have a black cover over it with two sliding locks on the sides. Pop the lid off and it’ll have a load of fuses and relays. Cheers
You don't need to take out engine to replace harness.
It seems to me that you would be better off doing some fault finding before you reprogram or rip things outs.
Check CAN-Databus Wiring/Connector(s) from/to Engine Control Module (ECM).
Check Measuring Value Blocks (MVB).
Usually Measuring Value Blocks (MVB) 125+ show the current Communication Status.
Check Data BUS Chapter 90-9. Skoda-Fabia 2000-Electrical.pdf -chapter 90-9 it supposed to apply to caddys as well
Personally, I would start (if you haven't already) by checking *all* fuses and relays

Having the exact same issue just now. Have lifted off the fuse/relay module. Did your connector have any signs of visible damage/corrosion? Mines looks in perfect condition, no signs of water ingress etc.
Have checked the loom as mentioned by Doc.
When I remove the 100relay, the van doesn’t start - only turns over. Replace the relay it fires up no problem. Van still intermittently cutting out and showing traction warning light.
