Wheel & Tyre Advice

I don't have access to the Wheel & Tyre Section yet so asking for inspiration and advice on this section.

I am about to collect my Pure Grey MK4 Caddy which has from factory 17" x 6J Canyon Alloys with factory lowered suspension. Current tyres are 205/50/17

I am wanting to go to 18" or 19" wheels (probably in Silver) so looking for ideas and what other people have got on their Caddy for some inspiration and what width wheels you can run safely with sensible tyres (not rubber bands)

Please show me your pictures so I can get some ideas. Other coloured wheels I'm also happy to see as I may change my mind on colour

With regards to size etc, most common/safest seems to be 8.5j in a 19 inch with an offset of et45.
Tyre wise some have 225/35 but I don’t think the load rating is correct on that size. 235/35 should be used.
That’s the spec I have on mine and have no rubbing or side door issues

Them canyons will fetch nice money as well if you do upsize. Quite sought after wheels

I’ve already had about 5-6 messages from people wanting them.

I’m unsure on value as they are mint with Michelin tyres which are also in excellent condition?

18 x 8j/8.5j with 225/40/18 tyres is a sort of middle of the road safe option, and there’s untold choice in both wheels and tyres in this size.

Make sure the wheels offset(ET) number is around 45 give or take, and you shouldn’t have any clearance issues

19s arguably look better; but without the height adjustment of coilovers fitment can be tricky, and they’re generally less practical.

Martin I would be wanting at least 700 + if they are that nice . I had a,set on my 2nd caddy .

As nice as tge canyons are, no one will pay 700 for them.
Honestly you would be looking 500/550 the very most.
If that's no good, you could always keep them as winter wheels buddy.

I wanted a set 18 months ago but couldn't find any anywhere . I ended up with a set of caddy5 17" Alloys. I would have ripped your hand off then

Sold my previous set, each wheel needed a refurb. Had them up originally for 500, let them go for 400 a few weeks later.
Honestly, I understand people want good money for good condition items, but the truth is that no one will pay it.

As nice as the canyons are, no one will pay 700 for them.
Honestly you would be looking 500/550 the very most.
If that's no good, you could always keep them as winter wheels buddy.

To be honest £700 did seem a lot but I’d not complain if someone was willing to pay that for them
