Re: AUSTRALIAN MEMBERS THREAD
Hah! You know, a caddy might look good with a nose ring possibly!
This is my baby currently - though I took the roof rack off yesterday, so hopefully a bit better fuel economy. Tomorrow I'm getting 1-way signage on the back window as it's my business car. Though that's probably going to change once I get her eventually re-painted, but it'll work for now to stop people being able to look in easily.

(I hope this works - ok seems not - maybe once I've done my 6 posts)

Image not showing
Yeah good idea on two counts, stop the crims stealing your stuff and the bonus of advertising your business
Speaking of business, without seeing the artwork, what's your line ?
Is it just for advertising or will u run your business with / from the van ?

I’m an artist so it’s mostly for carrying my stuff around. I photograph using old-style large cameras and also do some specialty markets, and packing the Mazda 3 up to the gills with equipment was getting a bit scary for longer distances.

Not been on here for a fair while, but good to see the Aussie Caddy Community is still going!
I'm in Perth and have been building out a Caddy 2.0TDI 4Motion for a bit of exploring around WA and beyond.
Recently brought it with me to SA for work and spent a weekend with it around the Flinders. Got a few comments and weird looks but I suppose that's part of the fun and not jumping on the Landcruiser/Hilux/Patrol/Ranger etc ect bandwagon.
Some pictures and videos of the build and our camping trips you see on my Insta, which shares the same name I use here!

Re: AUSTRALIAN MEMBERS THREAD
So, I’ve got the windows tinted and got new wheels. What should I do next?
I’d love to get her lowered but I’m having trouble finding somewhere actually decent locally which is sucking.
Though she rides a lot better with the new wheels so that can maybe wait anyway, as it was mostly the insane amount of bounce that was making me consider that.
Painting vs wrapping? Any opinions?

Re: AUSTRALIAN MEMBERS THREAD
Looking good Lilith
I just purchased some plastic paint "plast PT" from Wurth, waiting for it to arrive and then I need time
I am going to use it to paint my interior A pillars and overhead parcel tray the same colour (in my case Anthracite) to match the rest of the front interior, try and make it look a little more care like not van like on the inside
while I am at it, I am thinking of giving the panel trim exterior and bumpers a bit of a refresh
not too sure hat your planning to do with your bumpers but maybe the thought of a bit of rejuvee might be an idea (would match your black number plate, side mirrors and side trims, assuming they havent been edited for the photo)
as for paint or wrap, tbh I have never had wrap but they do look good
you really want to do your homework on who to use as there are a lot of cowboys on the bandwagon
there are a few threads on here about wraps, pro's and con's of doing
iirc, your read windows have your company logo / brand / image etc ...
I would consider just doing something similar on the rear of the panels (from B pillar back)
it would probably be a lot easier to get something printed up (and play around with it before going to final print) in vinyl and have it stuck on
self confessed not knowing much about vinyl, but I imagine it would be easier to remove down the track if you ever sold and upgraded or anything ?
the works you have done and doing are very nice and you should be proud of the results
I would hold off lowering it at the moment, see how much weight your going to be carrying with all your business needs and then decide from there
airbags may be an option - ago, no ideas about these either !!

Re: AUSTRALIAN MEMBERS THREAD
Oh keep me updated with how your plastic painting goes! That’s definitely something I’m interested in doing.
I’m actually wanting the van to be black with no business logos except the rear window. The guy who did that has a good reputation for wrapping, and the wheel guy today also suggested it over painting it. I had always thought it wouldn’t give as deep a black as paint but he seemed to think it gave just as good a result, plus with the benefit of protecting the existing paint and being a lot cheaper. I guess one of the things that bothers me is that the inside of my doors would still be white as they stop the wrap in the join. But that’s probably a small bother for saving probably half the amount of money. It’s not like I’m going to show it, I just want it to look dark and mean!
