Installing extra speakers
Hello you lovely lot,
Speaker question...
I upgraded my front door speakers on my Caddy start line at the weekend, I have no speakers in my dash but the kit came with them. Has anyone got any guidance on how i fit these? splice into the loom somewhere? Also, I have some 6X9s for the back id like to install but again, I need to know where to cut and install.
Any help would be amazing, thank you
Happy to post an "how to" thread after installation if anyone is interested.

Re: Installing extra speakers
The easiest place to splice in for the tweeters is on the back of the A-pillar socket.

Re: Installing extra speakers
I’m also interested in a rear location point for some 6x9s? But other than the space behind/under the seats I’m not sure where to look at/attempt! I’d love to know if you come up with a solution!

Re: Installing extra speakers
you can get a loom for the back of the stereo that has breakout wiring for tweeters and rear speakers. might be easier that splicing, depending how far you are going with the install (i.e. removing trim and sound deadening).
using plenty of dynamat style sound deadening massively improved my sound quality, so worth thinking about

Re: Installing extra speakers
so my plan is to put them behind the rear seats in the ply cut outs if that makes sense? already ran the wires, just need to trace wiresJpcaddy2kn wrote: ↑Wed Apr 03, 2024 7:16 pm I’m also interested in a rear location point for some 6x9s? Re: Installing extra speakers
id like to use the dash if possible, keep it as OEM as possible, id still have to cut and join wires

Re: Installing extra speakers
Well your 6x9s are not going in the dash. No room. Get some speaker boxes then and mount them in the rear foot we’ll be hind the seats as you suggested.
Others have roof mounted some.
