Bulb warning light

Post by dub_crazee »

Got a strange one.

So last Friday I fitted xenon headlights - bulb warning light inevitably came on.

Coded Saturday, headlights working properly but reverse light warning on dash. Assumed coincidence but didn’t actually check bulb.

Decided to order LED reverse bulb that said no warning lights

Fitted it - still have a warning light.

Swapped for another bulb I had - still had a warning light

Put original bulb back in - works - still has a warning light

So I’ve now tried three bulbs but warning light remains on.

Any ideas?

What have you changed in the coding?
Is it possible the CECM/BCM is looking for a lamp which is not there?

Tbh I’m not sure, I took it to someone for the coding. I’m going to him for some other bits so he’s going to take a look but wanted to see if there were any obvious suggestions

It just says check left hand reverse light.

Have you checked the right hand reverse light?

So I checked the fog light and it’s not working, tried three bulbs and still not working. Holder looks ok.

It's probably best to just wait until you get the guy who did the coding to check it over. It's very likely that there has been some coding changes made which have upset your lights.

I don’t know I’m afraid as the chap who did the coding sorted it. I do still have a minor problem where ignition on now says left hand side repeater isn’t working but as soon as I indicate left the warning light goes out. Just living with it but it triggers my ocd on a daily basis

I know what you mean, I have fitted some LED DRL bulbs, and the bulb warning light comes on for about 5 minutes then goes off, it happens every time I start the van.

Nothing major, but it does trigger me.

I have an issue, my N/S read cluster, the tail light foes not want to work. I have bought a new bulb holder, but alas, this has not fixed it.

Has anyone else has any issues regarding this

I have the same problem because i changed halogens to led. Another solution could be to remove the cold light monitoring via vag can pro
