Hi,
My 2011 mk2 Caddy 1.6 TDI DSG is having a couple of issues.
one is the error code P2427, which seems to be an issue with the "exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) cooling valve control circuit" which i just found on google.
the second is it leaks coolant slowly, need to be topped up every 3-6 Months or so.
I'm just wondering before I replace the whole EGR, if it could be related to the coolant issue?
Is there a couple of simple tips to fix this issue easily, like worth trying before pulling everything apart.
Thanks
Error Code P2427

Re: Error Code P2427
I’d assume that you may have a leak on the egr cooler, mine apparently was weeping before it failed. I had mine replaced but the new one only lasted a year and a few months, but I believe what was fitted was a non genuine (although was told it was a pierberg unit). So if your issue is the egr cooler which is very common, I’d suggest from my own experience to replace with a genuine part which can be purchased through tps or your local dealer.

Re: Error Code P2427
You could have a slight leak within your cooler between the coolant and 'exhaust gases' so the motor burns it when it's fed back into the pistons.
I would check the wiring first, as that's what the fault code indicates - is it an electronic valve? (mine is a mechanical vacuum operated one)
Error code:
Fault Location:
Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) Cooling Valve - Circuit High
Possible Cause:
Wiring/Connector(s) short to positive.
Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) cooling valve.
