Steering wheel help please!

Post by thecolourpurple »

Guys, I'm looking to swap the steering wheel from my MK3 highline but my question is how do you know which will fit . Ideally Id like a flat bottomed one & I've seen one from a Mk5 GTi but have no idea if it's compatible
I don't need a mfsw if this helps.
Thanks in advance

Pretty much any non-MF steering wheel from a modern day VW will work for you.
You will need the airbag to suit the wheel.

Thanks Doc
So am I correct that the Mk5 gti steering wheel will fit as long as it has the Mk5 GTi airbag?

Yep, mk5 GTI is what I would consider to be a modern day VW.

Thanks again Doc. Would any coding be required. Am I correct that just airbag & horn will plug into existing connectors?
Cheers in advance

No coding necessary, just plug in and you're all set.
