Hi,
I have recently bought a 59 plate Caddy that has been converted to a camper and I am planning to start tidying up parts of it as I go along, so there might be a few of these emails.
The first bit I am looking at is the screen that goes in front of the speedo etc, on mine this has got a couple of cracks in it and I would like to look at replacing it, but I don't want to do more damage trying to remove it, if there is a simple way to do so.
Has anyone changed theirs? If so do you have some simple instructions I can use?
Thanks,

Re: Replace the screen on the dashboard
Welcome to the forum.
Is it the instrument cluster clear cover you are looking for or the LCD screen?
Both will be most economical to replace with a used item if you can find one in good condition.
2010 is a crossover year between two generations of Caddy2k, as such there are two different instrument clusters, you will need to select the correct one.

Re: Replace the screen on the dashboard
Hi,
It is the instrument cluster I am looking to replace.
The plan is to go to the local scrap yard and look for a better one.
From what I can see they have a couple of Caddys of the right era in there.
Thanks,

Re: Replace the screen on the dashboard
Hi,
Does anyone have any advice on this one>
I saw something on how to do a similar thing on a Golf, is it the same? Pull the steering wheel forward and down, remove a plastic cover on the dashboard, undo some screws and pull the cluster forward so that I can undo the clips?
Thanks,
alamb200

Re: Replace the screen on the dashboard
Hi,
Just in case anyone is interested, I was right, you just drop the Steering wheel down to its lowest height, pull off the facia, then there are two hex screws to remove and the console just pulls out, in my case it took a bit of a pull to release it. After that unclip the front screen and fit the new one and put it all back again.
Took about 15 minutes to do it and I no longer have to look at a cracked display screen.
