Hi all looking for assistance from any members who have upgraded their BCM to one which will allow all upgrades.
Like heated seats , electric folding mirrors ,parking sensors ,auto lights , headlight upgrade front fogs with cornering and footwell lighting
I thought the van I had bought was a TRENDLINE and would have been ok to carry out some of these mods however I have since found out it’s a STARTLINE.
I’m keen to fit some of the bits I have sitting in the house that the long haired general is giving me it right about each time she cleans the gaff.
After reading some of the posts and info on the forum I’ve read this might need changed though I never seen anything that covers MK4 or 2017 onwards
The BCM code currently installed from the factory 5K0937085AD
I know from reading the posts I’m looking for one with the 87 prefix at the end.(5K0937087)
Am I better to buy from VW or keep hunting the web ? As these are like hens teeth.

BCM part number required is
5k0937086AD
This is the one I have in my 2020 highline.
The BCM's are a straight swap, note down your long code first or save autoscan etc
Hope this helps

This is not it as simple as it seems. I’ve done many retrofits and BCM upgrades.
BCM’s are either low, medium or high line. You need a highline BCM and swapping it requires using ODIS as it has component protection. Swapping it and getting it past component protection is the easy part, the more difficult part is paramaterisation that requires another tool. After this you can code it.
OR it is far simpler to get a used one from a crashed car but make sure you get a receipt as if it’s from a stolen/recovered one it won’t register to your car. These days they are a pain as they’re all VIN matched and VW want you to buy them and upgrade them from them at a ridiculous price. I’ve heard that on the Caddy 5 VW are implementing a newer system to prevent second hand BCM’s being used.
