Heated rear window problem.
Hi all, bought a Caddy today. 2016 (66) Caddy Startline. I noticed this when driving home, I turned down the heater temperature and the heated rear window came on and wouldn't go off when pressing the button. Turn the heater temperature back up and you can then turn it off. Is this something common or something someone has seen before? First time poster so not sure how to use the forum just yet so apologies if I'm in the wrong place. Any help appreciated.

Re: Heated rear window problem.
Sounds like a glitch.
I wouldn’t worry about it unless it repeatedly happens. If that happens then it’s likely to be software related.

Hi mate thanks for your response. Unfortunately it's not a glitch and happens every time, it'll be fine this time of year seeing as the heating is up most of the time anyway, I'll just have to get to the bottom of it before the summer comes around

Re: Heated rear window problem.
I would firstly try recoding and if that doesn’t work then swapping out the heater control unit. Easy to do.
If that doesn’t cure it, then it may be linked to the BCM. It definitely sounds like a software issue and it may need to be plugged into ODIS to see if any errors come up before doing anything else.

Re: Heated rear window problem.
Via VCDS or OBD11 you can disable the heated rear window.
It's no solution, but perhaps a workaround

Re: Heated rear window problem.
Cheers for getting in touch guys. I was tempted to just take the fuse out for the heated window. It'll be no use to me anyway as I've got window covers fitted so wouldn't see out of them either way. I might do a bit of fault finding first just to satisfy my curiosity but I doubt I'd fork out on a new unit for the sake of a it. Appreciate all your inputs
