Chapter 0 - The Cabrio, the Station Wagon, the Camper and the Van.

I'd like to explain how this journey begin.

Everything started a long time ago. I had 2 tuning cars, one Peugeot 206 5 doors, the one that I start with ( hope to rescue a pic from archive ) that was former my Dad's car and Ludmilla, the Opel Astra Twintop. The Spark of the modder blow my life, with one of a kind TUV approved body kit, first of his family BMC CDA air intake system (the car that they use for approval was Ludmilla) and so many unique item tailored to be the First of that kind, custom downpipe and stuffs. Just for introduce how I was ...

*Here In will post some pic of the car when rescued *

By the way, the adulthood arrive, the work hit to hard and Ludmilla follow me like a shadow every day at work... Every day with more miles, dirty, impossible to clean due the fumes of industrial zone.. bad work life balance, bad everything... At my first brain burnout I shut down while driving and destroy the car. She save me.
Thinking now how is the car market, and all the expertise Ingot about life, it was a good idea to repair her, but I was younger, depressed, with parents and friends that push me to get a family.
I got an used Audi A4 Avant.
Without wife and children, I asked to the seller to marry me but she refused.
That car was like soulless compared to Ludmilla. I don't even named it. Just Audi. My inner soul worked a lot to repair my broken soul from depression and I got a ton of information about coding parts, VAG group parts exchange and everything. I think that the reason because later I got a VW Caddy.
Long story short that grey station wagon carry me at work everyday. 2 hours in one direction, 2 hours in the opposite direction, sleep, repeat. My depression was still in charge.

But hey. What about sleep in the car ?
I'm still a weird nerd, exchange 4 hours of driving with old but gold anime watching, forum writing and more.

And I start with the Audi Camper.

If people are interested I'll write more, but long story short I later exchange the Audi with the Caddy and I actually sleep all the working week inside the Caddy.

Chapter 2 - Additional Solar Panel, Battery Bank and Solar charger

at the beginning i was thinking that the caddy was more squared, and checking dimensions on the internet I planned a double solar panel configuration.
Nothing can be more wrong, because Cddy on the top is narrow than the bottom.

ImageImage

So i choose to keep just one 420 Watt solar panel, in the middle

Image

After the fitment test, I needed to build the custom rack for the solar panel, using the 2020 cnc aluminium extrusions.

During the next maintenance I'll take more pics, this is just the front half.

Chapter 4 - Engine Bay Upgrade - BMC CDA and Leisure Battery

I've seen on this forum a Camper Van with two Battery in the engine bay... hey, I can do it too!

So today, I get some time, dismantling the standard airbox and installing one of the saved parts of Ludmilla... the BMC CDA, not for performance, but for space saving, allowing to put the second battery near the first one.

Image

after this forst size test I give priority to the CDA, to get engine working and the free space, after that I will install the second battery and cables.

I created a support for the CDA and I installed withput the front inductor... still a WIP. I think I will design and 3d Print it, after thinking about vibration

Image

I had also tried a Double Cone FIlter but i had no idea how to fix it like the CDA, I wasn't enthusiast to let hit floating, and also no idea how to connect to the front air intake... but is this picture it's possible to see the old air tubes. is it possibe to remove them? if yes, how ? is it necessary to remove the fron bumber ? Any help is really appreciated.

I will continue with filter cleaning and second battery installation tomorrow
