Trim carbon hydro dipped today. Turns out it didn’t fit after all that, but making a plan as it’s Christmas and I’m feeling a bit guilty about how much this van is costing.

I dropped the front parts across to a guy who hydro dips, but it was boxed, so I didn’t check the parts. When I collected I asked if everything was there and sure enough it was a yes.
- Turns out two weeks later he has a part out the box he forgot to give me, hence the fit is off.
I assumed it was because it wasn’t OEM but I looked online and sure enough it was.
Firmly gutted!
Should start doing my homework before doing the trim etc, not many videos on the back bumpers too, plenty on the front ones though.

So, I have been off here for a while, a long time actually, in a bit of a heated one as the van has had a huge setback, there was issues with the wrap work. I always try to support small businesses doing good work — and the company I chose to wrap my van seemed like one of them. Great website, solid reviews, decent price, slick operation from the outset, wrapping x6's, premium vehicles but sadly, they’ve ruined the van, badly.
The wrap is uneven, bubbling, peeling, cut in the wrong places. Terrible. Somehow, I've been left with a janky bumper thats aftermarket, not properly fitted and dangerous. No idea what happened to the original,, so.
Even more frustrating: the company has now gone bust, after seeing the quality of the work, you can see why.
It’s heartbreaking to spend £3.5k on something meant to represent well and I have sunk around 20k+ into this project over the last 5 years, only had the lights left on the front really, and instead im left with a vehicle that looks like it’s been botched by amateurs. There’s no one to chase, no one to fix it, just a big cost in the future that I can't keep justifying and it's making me fall out of love with the whole van...
This is a just a reminder that the wrap industry isn’t well-policed. This isn't a bitching post about who did what, as I read a lot of that about bad work over the last few years, and yes, I should have got a full respray for twice the price looking at it now from TMG! I KNOW. I KNOW. I HAD THE YELLOW PICKED. There are plenty of slick presentations out there, but not enough accountability when things go wrong, or processes in place.
This is to say to people starting out with a van project or customisation, be much more cautious than me — and if you’re about to wrap a vehicle, demand to see physical examples of recent work before you hand over a penny, even sit in, nothing wrong with asking, as they have ruined my pride and joy and I can't afford to fix it for the foreseeable, its been off the road for almost a year, and still no clear time for when I can get the repairs made to the front! Be careful with your money, and who you let work on your caddy.

On a side note. - had these made, took a while but. They won’t break - basically indestructible as I have snapped the standard plastic black ones countless times.
They ain’t cheap, but I can get them for people if anyones interested. The one in the centre is standard blacks, they are weak!!. The 3D render is from the original drawings of the clip.
