Found the tank at 0psi on Tuesday, and with a significant leak which caused the tank to empty after circa 30mins. Unfortunately I haven’t had time to look at it until today, which has meant excessive run time on my compressors (again in sub zero conditions). This has ultimately led to blowing one of the fuses. The compressor appears to be working fine now, so fingers crossed it hasn’t done any permanent damage and was due to temp.
Traced the air leak to be one of the check valves passing. On stripping it it didn’t look too bad, at least no where near as gunked up as the last time I replaced them 2 years ago. Nevertheless I replaced both of them and all associated fittings and lines.
Also drained the catch can which was surprisingly full after only a month or so. I removed the intake just to check there wasn’t any oil residue, and found it to be clean as a whistle, so thats reassuring that the can is doing its job and keeping all that crap out of my oil, engine and intake.
