Just a simple caddy to camp with

Post by CannyCaddyThatLike »

Hi everyone,
My caddy journey is starting with a 2005 SWB caddy that's already had quite a few bits done to it...

Insulated, sound deadended and walls carpeted
Led lights in the rear with VW led light
Rusty Lee bed installed
Subwoofer (needs removed to lay bed down)
DAB headunit
Newer steering wheel
Cruise control (dosent work)
Parking sensors?
Body coloured bumper
Seat FR seats

There's a few faults which I need to look into and sort...
Alarm going off when locked
Passenger window switch not working
Cruise control not working/coded
Door lock module error
Parking sensors beeping all the time when key on
Sliding door not staying open
Recirc button broken

And a few parts to sort the van out...
New passenger window switch
New passenger door lock
Steering colum module to code cruise control
Head unit with android auto
Touran seat bases
New heater control unit
Ebay armrest
Rear curtains
Storage nets

I don't need it for much but I'd rather it be in good shape, mechanically it seems alright so far for nearly a 20 year old van and seems to have had some love in the past.

I had a fun few days, replaced the heater controls with a golf mk5 set and wasted a day trying to find where the flexible cable went to... turned out the cage on the back was pointing the wrong way.

The new headunit is installed and more parts have arrived, the simplest thing I've done so far is add the lanyard door release.

I'm starting to feel better about things now. Passenger window module replaced and working, solar 12v trickle charger plugged in, USB from the radio fitted to a blank and I've made a start on swapping the seat bases.

It feels like night and day just from putting the touran seat bases in, just need to start cleaning the seats when it gets a bit less frosty.
