I'll report back once I receive it but it looks very similar to the one on eBay. They do two sizes too.
Are you just doing the front doors or areyou going to do the sliding doors as well?

It looks like a great option if it does work out.
Let us know how you get on with it 👍🏻

If there's enough I'll try and do the sliding door too. I have no idea what length is needed for the front doors though but I guess 8m should be plenty.

I'll report back as soon as I get it.

Got it delivered today.

Quality seems decent.

However, 8m was just about enough to do the front doors. Unless Chinese meters are 70cm long... I didn't actually measure it.

I'll let you know if I can tell the difference once I drive it for a bit.

Have you checked the condition of your hinges? A whistle and leaking water in heavy rain will be worn hinges. You will not notice any play in them with the door open but will feel it with the for almost closed.

No, I wouldn't have thought they could have an impact on noise. I'll definitely check them

Any verdict on the seals so far?
Do you think they've made much of a difference?

Well... It's hard to say, so probably they don't.
Having said that, if I were to do it again I'd get the bigger one (12x14mm). I have the feeling the 9mm one I got is too small to properly seal everywhere.

I have a Maxi Life with whistling drivers door, will try the hinges and check the seals and see if I can isolate it. Cheers guys.

I'm no expert but there are numerous threads on here suggesting and pointing towards the wing mirrors
The wind whistles thru them
This could be your culprit
Do a search for a stack of results
I can't recall the mod but it's something like some tape in the gap to fill the void, like foam backed or Velcro (fluffy side) on the inside of the mirror housing
Do a search, have a read and try options till one works for you

Ah right. Bad luck, but thanks for letting us know.

Someone pointed me to the vanstyle eBay page and they have a 16mm seal that they say fits the caddy, most others I've seen are 14mm I think?

Think I'll go for the bigger size myself when I do get around to it

Cheers

I always thought this was my roof bars, didn’t occur to me that it could be the wing-mirrors…

Unfortunately, even after 35 posts and requesting access three times, after 3 months, I still don't have access to the How-To sections... but will try that, thank you mate!

I'm over 100 posts and 2 months on, no access to the other forum sections. I'm beginning to wonder if Doc is actually coming on here to check the forum at all.

Anyway...

I need the rear body aperture seal, as mine is torn at the bottom. Can anyone recommend a good seller of the OEM item? Any I've seen are near £100 and that's ridiculous for a seal. But I don't want an aftermarket split jobbie. I have barn doors. And I don't trust LLL as I've had previous unhappiness with them for BMW parts on the wife's Mini Countryman. Never again.

Suggestions most welcome.
