I'm very happy with the brakes, I'd love a dual rear set up but.

I have that setup on my golf
It has it benefits. Keep the brake bias the same between front and rear as the calipers match up per what factory designed it, looks cool too of course. I could never afford swap out the stock calipers for brembo r8 handbrake calipers. That would be needed to correctly finish the install.

18z on the front and their matching cayenne 4 pots on the rear.

They look small behind 19" wheels, but significant behind 18".

I'm unhappy with the recent zinc plating I did rebuilding the stock calipers on my caddy and while id happily throw big brakes on the caddy too. I'm resisting the urge as I enjoy the flexibility of wheel fitment the stock brakes offer

Extensive list of items from Stan. Pretty much anything and everything I can do to the van.

That's the same bumper as I've been running since the mk4 front conversion. I simply fitted the grills that suit the fog lights as well as the fog lights.

It'll be multi coloured for a while longer, but I'm hoping to have it back together before months end and hopefully the interior finished by the end of the year.

Evening all,

Waiting for Stan's wiring wizardly to arrive now. Shouldn't be too much longer.

Image

Adding a good 5kg in wiring I reckon.

While I wait I'm doing silly things.
Decided the heat shields under the car needed attention

And before you ask, yes I did the side you don't see too.

Hopefully do the tunnel one, and wash the underside of the van while it's all removed soon too.

Good morning,

Happy to report the package from Stan arrived Monday last week, so plenty of wiring shenanigans are happening. Will update you regarding that once its all sorted

Monday this week saw the car reach the point the engine and gearbox can be returned to the engine bay

So loaded up onto the crane.

Late last night I primed the new turbocharger and hit the key.

Never has the car started let alone cold started so well

Incredibly quick and crisp.
Hopefully the new crank trigger in the new rear main seal, and the new HPFP are the reason.

Tonight hopefully I can get enough of the car back together for a test drive.

A free rev hears the new turbo spool nice and quickly in comparison to the old one.

I'm looking forward to that as well as hopefully nothing leaking onto yet another new clutch.

Good Morning,

Finally had the chance to test driver over the weekend, but not after some teething issues.

The bonnet cable halves split prior to the test drive delaying it a day, as it was 11pm at that point and I would need to top up fluids post drive.

I was lucky to be able to get my hand up there with the guard liner out.

Also had a fault code caused by a broken wire. Thankfully it was in an easy space to get to.

Finally we have episode 14 of Covid-caddy. A video longer than the usual format, as we had a lot to cover off.

Enjoy!
