2.0l C20 Startline remapped

Post by C8XYR »

Hi I’ve just bought a 2016 C20 Startline that’s already been remapped, it’s very nippy! My question is, what has it most likely been remapped to? I’m guessing there’s no real way of telling without a computer etc but for DPF and EGR delete plus remap what would you expect?

The 2nd generation common rail 2.0 like yours is sold in three variants - 102hp, 122hp and 150hp. They're all pretty much the same engine just sold at three levels of tune, and with a remap alone they can make up to around 180hp :D

However, the 5 speed box found in the 102hp model can't handle as much torque as the 6 speed found in the more powerful models. Any tuner worth their weight should be capping torque at around 350nm for the 5 speed, whereas the 6 speeds will handle as much as the engine can make, which is around 420nm.

Thanks for the reply, is there anyway to see what map has been applied, maybe through VCDS? Either stored values or through monitoring perhaps?

A remapper may be able to tell if it's a non standard map but won't know what it does mate. VCDS won't help, it can't tell you what power the engine is making.

A rolling road is really the only way to measure output power.

A good mapper will be able to offer data-logging and map check service to see what's been done, how the engine is running and whether there's any room for improvement. Where abouts are you based?

My 102 5 speed was mapped and made 193 if I remember right
It ate clutches for fun, so had it put back to standard.

Im just outside of Watford, Herts. Im very happy with how the van runs, I'm more interested in making sure it was done correctly (sensibly) so I don't come unstuck!
Its going in for a gearbox mount soon and some other little bits, I just get the feeling its tuned up quite a bit
