Hi, first post. Found this forum as I wanted to read this thread: https://www.forum.caddy2k.com/viewtopic.php?t=47582 .
Unfortunately I cannot as looks I'm too fresh here. It's OK. One day.
So here goes my question, it's about lifting an '83 mk1 by the rear axle. I put the stands where the leaf springs attach to the axle with ubolts. But I've been lifting by where the leaf springs attach to the frame. This is annoying. Can I instead jack by the rear axle? It won't buckle?
The above photo (above forum link) shows a jack in the center. I couldn't access the comments. Are people saying that's OK? It's not listed as a jacking spot in Bentley nor Haynes :/.
Thanks!
mk1 jack in center of axle OK?

Hey Skladak. This was a question I was also curious about so I read that thread. If you haven't been able to read it then long story short, no is the answer. One poster cautioned that the axle can bend under those circumstances.
