Caddy mk3 07 plate ticking/ knocking sound

Hi all
My caddy is making a knocking/ticking noise
When I am stationary and it gets worse when I accelerate I've been told it may be the bottom end or possibly an injector
Has anyone else experienced this and can confirm which one it might be

If it's a light tick then it's likely from the top end, maybe a valve lifter ticking. Mines 2015 and occasionally (only occasionally) does have a top end tick which goes away after a while and stays away for ages then does it again.

You'd probably only get an injector ticking under load, or at least would get much worse under load, and that would sound like a metallic pinking / pinging noise. Mine seems rpm related and most noticeable at idle. But I'm loathe to put Wynn's lifter treatment in due to it possibly degrading the wet belt for the oil pump.

Maybe get an oil and filter change (don't use flush either for reason above) to see if that cures it.
