Very true, I’d love to get my hands on a white tailgate with no glass but beggars can’t be choosers, I pulled the engine and box in one so it’ll just be the loom that causes the headaches like threading a bloody needle

Fitted the external air to air transmission cooler and pipe work today. Not the best pic you can see it poking out on the near side

Re: 3.2 v6 Turbo DSG 4X4 Multi link Conversion
Then pulled the plugs out and cranked it over with no ECU just to check I’ve got oil to everywhere I need oil. Turns out I haven’t got any oil flow let alone pressure. Annoying as I primed the oil pump when I installed it but I guess it’s got an air lock. Tried filling it through the oil cooler pipes and the turbo feed pipe to get some more oil in the pump to no avail. Oil filter screws in from the bottom so I can’t try and burp it from there so that’s not going to work. So took the sump back off removed the oil pump stuck it in a pan of clean oil and spun it with a drill to get the oil into the pump. Reassembled and tested and we have oil…

So I’m getting close now
Things left
- DSG oil and filter
- exhaust
- heat shields
- front bumper
- fuel filter bracket (changed to mk4 r32 so fatter)
- coolant pipes (need to change my routing on the turbo not happy with it as is)
- fill coolant
- vacuum pipes
- run it up and see what happens
(Stealth have my ecu currently putting a base map on so I can run it up before live remap)

Re: 3.2 v6 Turbo DSG 4X4 Multi link Conversion
So all back together now, albeit some small tidying up jobs.
I knocked up a very basic exhaust to get it up and running
Had a small coolant leak that was a pinched seal on the crack pipe nice and easy also I need to beef up the wiring and relay for the fuel pumps as that seems to be pulling a few more amps than the standard wiring is happy with.
Took it for a run on the base map just to bed rings and check for leaks… everything seems okay so far.
stole this half exhaust idea from a transit custom

I have it booked in for a full custom exhaust next week so kept it as simple as can be. Followed by a remap on the 4th of July. Then we will see how much power we can pull out of this Frankenstein caddyPineapple1984 wrote:So all back together now, albeit some small tidying up jobs.

So 568bhp and 800nm of torque. It’s fast now and the power comes in like a sledge hammer at 3500rpm. Very pleased with the results……………………

Re: 3.2 v6 Turbo DSG 4X4 Multi link Conversion
However………….. You all probably know by now that we need to keep moving on. The DQ250 gearbox is having the life pulled out of it by the Ginocapod amount of torque. It’s already got quite a lot of lash so I envisage this royally giving up on me in the near future….. sooooo DQ500 here we come. Il be using a 2013 5n Tiguan diesel box so it’s compatible with my pq electronics.
