They have to come out from behind the hub and go back in that way or they put up a real fight. Mind you I have the later ones without the aluminium ends, all steel. Front bolt comes out towards the front bumper and can't be tightened until the van is resting on its wheels again. 80nm I think from memory.
Could be dependant on the gearbox motor combination? On the 1.9 BLS with the DQ250 it was absolutely silly I'm about 50mm (2") from being able to remove the bolt.

Could be mate, you could drive a bus past the bolts on the 1.6 with a 5 speed. Never seen the bls underneath so just wondering why they made it so difficult on yours.

I had to jack the engine to do the alternator clutch pulley and stretch belt (that was a laugh...not) as the frame rail blocks you getting the torx bit into the alternator shaft.

I got a little tiny bottle jack from Halfrauds and it was perfect for this, sat on 3 planks of wood to reach the sump and a other small plank on top to protect the alloy sump, that may be what you need bud. The engine lifted about 2" easily without any complaints from the mounts. The jack was about £15. Little tiny orange thing apparently rated at 1.5 tonnes. Very handy.

(The reason it needed sat on wood to reach the sump was it was already jacked up on the drivers side with the standard jack and had the wheel and arch liner out to reach the bottom pulley)

I'm not too cut up about it to be honest. I have to replace the DMF and I was tossing up taking it to a mechanic to do it, but if I'm dropping the sub frame and my LCA's are out I may as well just do the job and safe some $$$.

I've ordered some parts and special tools for the job so over the next few weeks I'll drop the gearbox, replace the DMF and rear main seal. Then I have brand new mounts bushings, tie rod ends, ball joints, shocks, struts to put back in.

For your viewing pleasure, the left side LCA bolt and it's alignment with the DQ250.

That looks ridiculous, why the hell they designed it that way defies belief. I feel your pain mate.

I ran mine with the standard D8S bulbs for a week, and for xenon’s I thought they were pitiful, swapped the out with LED bulbs, and what a difference it makes, tho the coding on mines still not right, everything works but I keep getting side lights not working

Fitted the xenons and coded them work absolutely mint. Think they're xenon bulbs at the moment but fairly impressed compared to halogen so will run them for now.
Coding wise I made a thread were a few people helped me out with the coding.

I'd love to change the rear bumper reflectors to led running lights. Some might think it a little naff, but I wonder if anyone has come across a module that fits a MK4 rear bumper slot.

Picked these up today for the princely sum of £120, £100 for the seats and £20 for the lassies in the scrappy to get breakfast tomorrow!
Just have to work out what the other 2 plugs are for, obviously the yellow is airbags , 1 is red and the other is black

Ordered a 200W solar panel for the roof to hook up to my Bluetti, but will still be cleaning up old glue and fluff from ripped off carpet lining for a good while yet!

Bought some side rail covers and was making use of the good weather to get them painted but the halfords cans aren't a very good match (yeah I know)
So I painted the roof rail bolts instead
