ABS pump wiring

Post by Isthatacaddy? »

Good evening all, I have an ABS light illuminated and my MOT is due soon. Using OBDeleven I get the following code: 01276 intermittent.Image[/img]
I have disconnected the plug and would like to at least do some basic checks in there to at least see if I am getting any power in there and maybe check grounds etc. Is anyone familiar with the wiring on this model, who can offer any guidance on where I can test and what voltage values I could expect to see on some of the conductors/colours?

It’s a 2009 1.9tdi lbs if that makes any difference. I have taken a couple of photos, hopefully they may be of some help.

Much appreciated

Have you checked the wiring at the abs wheel sensors themselves? That's a more likely area for a faulty wire or corrosion.

You can get a copy of Erwin off eBay, it has the diagrams for all systems and models.

Couldn't see any ErWin copies on eBay ?
Found a couple of ElsaWin copies via Google !

I just did a trip to Barcelona and on the way down to Plymouth I chanced upon heavy rain and some large standing water areas on the M4 !

Started getting ABS issues not long after the puddle :(

Fault started as one wheel randomly applying ABS for about a second.
Then in Spain it gradually got worse with full Christmas tree light effects and bongs and dings, and eventually RED Light Consult Garage Immediately !!! No Speedo, no ACC, no Front Assist, no TPMS, Front radar detached, etc. then occasionally on startup no throttle - All in all not great !

Managed to get home.

Checked the ABS controller plug and the cowl had broken into pieces and some parts were missing - not as water resistant as it should have been.

Made up a new Delphi 38pin plug and wired it as per ErWin.
Got a local expert to splice it into the loom - Still a fault with the RHS speed sensor so replaced both Left and Right with new Hella units from GSF.

Cleared all the faults (26) and so far so good :) fingers crossed.
