Ok, so it’s not Ruby Red but it’s a name that works I guess.
I bought myself a Caddy because I wanted a small van for gigs, going out with my mountain bike and general flexibility with the space. I set myself some criteria when shopping…
Has to be a 2 litre (got a 2.0 CR140)
Preferably not white (red)
Preferably not AdBlue (it’s not)
Preferably not moon miles (almost full service history with 175k)
Anyway, so far I have bought the van, bought an Audi A7 SE interior for the front seats and I’ve bought some MK6 Golf GT alloys to tidy it up.
Externally there’s some flaws but nothing horrific and it’s going to be small steps, but I like to plan. With this, the plan is to do the following (in no particular order)
Seats in (currently doing research for the wiring to b supplied)
Fit the alloys (easy)
Add cruise control (which I need to research)
Find a nicer steering wheel (research)
Retrofit electric windows and mirrors (research)
Potentially look into replacing the instrument cluster, it’s a base model so doesn’t have any display other than the trip. To be honest that part is more of a “you haven’t shut the door properly” aspect or the MPG etc, but again, not really needed. There will probably be more as time goes on, but the initial part is making the inside of the van nicer to be in, and once that’s done the outside will be next.
I’m hoping being part of the group here will help me find out what I need, and I’m looking forward to getting stuck in to it.[/img][/img][/img]

So far, I have bought an Audi A7 SE interior and some MK7 Golf GT alloys. I’ve ordered the looms and hopefully they will land this week so I have something to play with over Christmas

Flog_TSC cheers. It’s definitely easy to spot where you park it
I like the fact that you don’t see them in red normally

Re: The Ruby Caddy
My new seat wiring has arrived! Not had the chance to replace the seats yet but gave the current ones a clean which made a massive difference. Took a couple of passes but it worked fairly well.
The question is, do I get Touran bases or adapt the Caddy ones? People seem to want a fair amount of money for the bases and part of me wants to just adapt them for that reason, but I’d rather have ‘plug and play’ if you get me? Choices choices.
