Mk4 Maxi w/ Solid Tailgate - Camper & Bike Van

Just setting up this thread to start documenting progress on my van! Had it for over a year now but mainly just been working on maintenance and fixing odd bits up till now.

I’ve been learning loads about these vans from all the research I’ve been doing on what I’m planning to do with it. I’ve found this forum in particular a really useful resource, and even though I’ve been a member here a while, I am still part of the crew that doesn’t have full access to the forum!! So I would like to try and contribute what I’ve learnt back to this Lite* version of the forum so that it might still be a useful resource!

The van itself is a 2020 (69) mk4 Startline Maxi, 2.0 L tdi. It’s got DSG and Air-con spec, and also features a solid tailgate. As I said I’ve had it for about a year now. It had around 125k miles on the clock when I bought it. I only use it occasionally so I’ve only added 5k miles to it so far.

Yeah I had to wait for quite a while for a van with this spec to pop up. The dsg is a very nice addition.

I’ve got it booked in this weekend to get the gearbox serviced, since the service history suggests it’s never been given any attention!

I have seen you can get the manual switched out for the dsg if you want to make the investment.
