Caddy project

Post by XBLster »

Hello, I bought a 2012 caddy 1.2tsi lowline.
After a pita install of the electric windows (used 2008 window regulators)
I wanted to upgrade the radio so I bought an RCD330 from aliexpress. And also ordered a transporter reverse cam. This all came but I messed up the reverse cam wiring (sharp parts in the trunk lit). Some soldering later it al worked except when the car was running... I still need to figure out how. I also retrofitted mk5 gti seats with touran bases.

The to do list:
Touran carpets
Touran dash
Airco
Install wiring for heated seats
Fix reverse cam
Rain and auto light sensor
Gti exhaust
Cold air intake
Fog lights
Caddy life mirrors
Ground zero subwoofer behind driver

Already done
Lowered
Mk5 gti front brakes
Seats installed
Radio upgraded
Sidebars

If any needs any advice let me know if I can help I will

I figured out how to fix the cam..

A dc filter was needed. Ordered it of Aliexpress. Installed it in the truck and now it works.

Also bought some caddy life mirrors of Autodoc. €98 each and they came with the mirrors so great deal. The caps need to be painted because now they are the same color as a pvc pipe.

I'm trying to figure out which door modules I need and ETKA is not very helpful.

I read online that you need a module with suffix 'A' but my local junkyard only has suffix 'G' , 'J' and no suffix.

Does anyone know what the suffixes mean?

as far as im aware the suffix is the variation of that part but there pretty much all the same other than coding on the modules i think. ive been told if you have electric windows its just a matter of wiring in and coding to suit

Little update.

I bought a caddy mk4 steering wheel and installed it sadly clockring is wrong. (Already expected it) no horn and no light up buttons,
I've been looking for which SWCM i need. Since there is no straight guide available I'm just going to buy 5K0953549B and see if it works.

If the mk4 steering wheel doesn't work I also have a MK6 GTI MFSW laying around.

The SWCM page on the Rosstech wiki is also terrible.
Also installed Golf MK7 wiper stalks.

Previously I installed Golf MK5 GTi seats which were heated and with the recent winter weather I really miss the butt warming.

At my local junkyard I found a Golf MK5 "Goal edition" which had (1K0 820 047 HC) and according to ETKA I need (2K5 819 047 A) or (2K5 819 047 C) for the caddy. Even though Google does not even know these parts.

So I bought the climatic unit with heated seats control.

I'll have to check if the wiring is the same even though my caddy doesn't have AC or a heated rear window. So those pins will be empty.

J301 = Air conditioning system control unit
J255 = Climatronic control unit
E94 = Heated driver seat regulator
E95 = Heated front passenger seat regulator
* - only models with Climatronic
** - only models with Climatic
-●●- - only models without air conditioning system

After sorting almost everything out I have reached the conclusion. Ain't working... 3 wires are going to the bcm and these are not CAN while the new one uses can. I don't have enough info to know if my bcm understands the old/new climatic.
