I bought a new key casing from Amazon. £6.99. Swapped the internals and the ‘key’. Feels like a brand new van 🤣

Not done it yet but picking up some Saab 9000 seats today, not sure if/how they will fit but i remember them being soooo comfy when i sat in one as a kid.

Velour too which is my preferred fabric.

Oh and £20 for a full set helped me take the gamble😁

Ill update with pics of the success or just me crying.

Update: after a couple of quiet nights at work, they did fit after a bit of fettling.

Can't work out how to post pics though...

Had a busy day fitted two rear doors cutting out heated glass and fitted my old blacked out glass to my new (secondhand) doors then fitted spoiler. Next Touran rear seats. Will post pictures when I figure out how to do it.😂

Been Doing a rear seat conversion on my Vw caddy maxi mk3. I Only wanted 2 seats at the rear because I didnt want to have a seat belt coming from the roof!

Moulded wheel arc panels in polyester resin and fibreglass. Then reupholstered them in the same Alcantara fabric as every other panel. It has never been so close to be “finished” before.

But, starting to think that I might sell it. The 1,6 TDI hasn’t been that reliable as one could hope for. And going for long trips in a car that might break down in the worst possible situations isn’t as relaxing as a vacation should be.

You need the app Tapatalk to post pics. Please post, I’m very curious on how the Saab seats fit in a Caddy!

Been busy, then struggled with the app but got thereImage
The Saab seats are a touch wider than the Caddy's, ended up using one rear captive nut in the caddy bases and drilling/spreader plating the others.
They are comfy and I like how old Saab seats look, but they do sit low on the caddy bases. I believe the Touran bases are higher so I'll try source a pair of them.
I'm super frugal,(some might say tightImage) and as the seats were £20 I'm holding out for a cheap pair, could be a long wait..Image

Finally got the doorcards back, fully alcantara with matching stitch pattern insert, all plastic welded back together.
Got the ambient lighting in and the flake plastic trims all in. Passenger side tomorrow! ImageImageImageImageImage

I got the steering wheel control module swapped out so my mk5 GTi MFSW now works properly, including the flappy paddles :D I also finally had cruise control fitted which is mega. So nice on the motorway!
