Tombars Progress Thread

Post by Tombar »

Hi my names Tom and im from Keighley West Yorkshire, im a sparkie by trade and a caddy was 1st choice in what i wanted, i bought it in Dec 11 with the idea i wouldnt get back into the modding game after my Vauxhall Corsa days where i spent way too much time money and effort!

here it is on collection only an SDi, still signwritten and in need of a few bits doiing too it but it was a good price and im not too bad with a lump hammer and gaffer tape :P
Image

Never let my customers down even when they dont turn up themselves!

It wasnt long before i thought id test fit a set of spare audi wheels kicking about, i liked them but i fancied something different.

then my mate decided too sell up and let me have these! deffinately wont be seeing any building sites mind theyve been powdercated in a one off graphite and candy red colour. Not one for a colour match when curbed :/

Been telling myself too kick on with the van ready for a few shows but it wasnt until i saw this at 'Dubs Int Dales' that i pulled my finger out, very nice chap and a fine example of a caddy i believe hes on here and won the show and shine although the latter may be incorrect!
Image

So first thing monday morning i ordered coilovers from a good mate of mine at Motorsportworld. they are the v-maxx kit and i cant believe how nice it is too drive still even on the lowest setting.

cant beat a weekend working on the motors followed by a few beers with the lads!

as you can see ive rubbed down the rear bumper primered the mirrors and taken rubstrips off for painting also have a spare front im currently working on
as i currently type everything has been primer fillered ready too be rubbed down a final time

plans are side rail cover, rear spoiler, handles painting and maybe some camber ill be at VW Festival Leeds and Trax Silverstone and hopefully it will look a lot better than it currently does :D

more pics will be up soon enough and maybe a few of my award winning corsa if any are interested!

Cheers dude! Glad I inspired you to get lowered 8)

The Caddy was runner-up - a dubious result in some people's eyes!

I think it was a case of which 'club' you were in. The Swisswax guys loved the Caddy but my guess is that because I'm an unknown to the other judges, they were reluctant to award us anything.

The Bag had a nice bottle on Swisswax Quick Detail spray and a microfibre towel in it. I'm happy with that.

True, maybe it's time for a local meet-up?

How's Salterforth these days? I grew up in Barlick, just up'road
