Caddy rear insulation
Hello all. I'm still waiting for delivery of my brand new highline caddy Now my question is what is the best method to insulate and sound deaden the rear of the caddy van. Thanks

Re: Caddy rear insulation
First thing is you need to add mass to the thin panels of the van, think like if you knock on a thin plate of metal as opposed to a thick one. This will help cut road noise and generally help keep noise down.
The best way would be dynomat or something similar, or the cheaper way is go to Wickes and buy the big rolls of grey roof flash band and line the floor and wheel arches in particular. I did the inside of side panels as well.

Oh and I managed to get hold of some rubber matting(about 3mm thick), and I laid this down on the floor under the ply and this made a MASSIVE difference. Instantly the road noise was reduced

Can dynamatt be removed without damaging paint. As I'm thinking of resale value. As my new van has cost nearly 20 grand. Ouch.

Not sure, I have never used the stuff but flash banding definitely can't! Once it's stuck it's a pig to get off. Maybe with some heat it might peel off but I tried to get a bit off the other day and it was solid

I've been looking at sound insulation material which is sticky backed with a foam layer Do you think that as a base plus loft insulation behind carpeted ply would reduce noise level by much
