Well, the key word is "cheap", but general consensus is that they're a cut above all the crap like Wanlis and so on. They look the nads too, cos they've got "V" tread, like Eagle F1s used to have

But more importantly in terms of performance; they're by no means horrendous, it grips around roundabouts nicely enough and wet performance isn't bad at all, not had an aquaplaning drama in it in the heavy stuff and I proper banzai in the rain cos I'm not scared (maybe cos I have never had a "moment"! ) admittedly yes it understeered like a bitch in the rain, upsetting the ASR, around the left-hander thats a filter lane on the A131 (you know, just beyond what's now the Hampton By Hilton Hotel as you head from Braintree towards Notley Tescos) but then I wassssss doing 60 . They're also not the world's noisiest, I've driven worse in terms of bog standard road tyres!

Though as a disclaimer, at the end of the day I haven't actually had a decent lowish-profile or performance tyre on the van before so have nothing to compare it to really. I've driven Mum's mk5 Golf GT TDI on pretty much the same tyre size on both Bridgestone Potenza RE050 and Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymetric and the Goodyears are so much better than the Bridgestones. Thing is, you can pretty much get a set of Nankangs for the price of one tyre of those brands. I don't honestly think the Goodyears or Bridgestones are really 4x as good. One thing I will say is, cos they're cheap, the inside of your wheels will become rimweight city because they're so badly balanced

On the balance, they're alright for me. The extra power you have may change things however

Well if i've suffered this long with no drama's from the factory Bridgestones that squeeel their tits off if you push on, i reckon Nankangs will do nicely

Do they wear quickly or are they quite a hard tyre?

i have used these nankang tyres before on an impreza turbo,
pretty good for what you pay for them, but are a bit soft and dont last as long

Er, pass lol depends who you speak to, Brycie reckons they're soft as you can see but my mate Andy reckons they're pretty bloody hard (he got 4k out of a set of Eagle F1s on his Saxo VTR back in the day due to negative camber when he decked it lol)

Due to it being front wheel drive, the fronts wear a lot quicker than the rears, rears have barely worn at all and the fronts were about 2/3 worn. I've ran them for a year now, and recently swapped the tyres round. I reckon I may get almost another year out. When i come to get the mouldings you can have a look at how much mine have worn. Since i got the van last April I've done 22K, so I reckon maybe 15K so far on these wheels and tyres wouldn't be a bad estimate? And yes, I do tan it lol

Good choice, nothing wrong with them but meh tyres is tyres is tyres. I think, in all honesty, if you're gonna crash the van you're gonna crash the van!

For price V's performance you can't go too far wrong with the Kuhmo KU31, I swear by them.

True but i just want as little understeer as possible really lol! and these are meant to be pretty durable too...

Looked on tyre stretch website and liked the look of the profile "215/35"

can't remember the site i looked at now for reviews but there was one guy saying he had some on his E46 M3 and they lasted about 16k miles which i thought was pretty good and they said wet/dry performance was on par with the conti's he had on there before
