I've got all bumper parts and sill trim silver bits and lower door trim but I think alarm bells starting ringing at VW when they realised that my van doesn't have any sliding doors

Did you order non sliding door parts for the rear then Matt? I thought I had done that for the offside but when the nearside turned up and its only the small piece for the door, I'm thinking that I'll need to order the other main section for the n/s and the small section for the o/s. From the pictures I've seen, the Cross only comes in dual sliding doors so the arches will need to be customised to work on Caddys with no o/s door.

I thought the same but I was told that a one sliding door model will be available. Maybe that's what is causing me problems

From my understanding of the parts list on etka, there aren't any non sliding door parts. I may be wrong and if any other parts arrive I'll keep everyone updated.

According to the VW commercial van page https://www.volkswagen-vans.co.uk/compa ... t-the-iaa/;

This model is due to go into production in early 2013 with a wide selection of engines, plus the option of 4MOTION all-wheel drive. Volkswagen expects to introduce the Caddy Cross as a panel van model in the UK in the first half of 2013.

I finally think I've found the seats. Yodel lost them, and the company I ordered them from seem a bit lazy in keeping me informed as to whats going on. Hopefully by the end of the week I'll have them but so nervous now that they are in one piece as been backwards and forwards to a holding depot, and now they will be attempting a delivery even though I just called them and said don't bother trying to, I'll come and pick them up from the depot. They can't do that until there's been a failed delivery attempt. I think we could call the whole debacle that!

Today I ordered the remaining sections of trim from the Cross with no problems but will need to pay for it upfront, and a leather handbrake sleeve which comes from the Caddy list on etka but not sure which model, I'm assuming either the ED30 or possibly the Carrera Cup.

The storage bin had arrived (a Caddy specific part) so fitted this afternoon. Very slightly different grey but reckon it will dull down in the sun. I'll try and remember to put the part number up for it.

I've just spoken to the commercial VW dealer local to me and he's confident of ordering all the Cross parts for me that I didn't order the first time thru TPS via my local car VW dealer. Not cheap for the sideskirts, rear bumper trim, and couple of bits for the rear arches though! Think anyone wanting to do this conversion in the future will need to budget £1500 in parts alone. I'm hoping to get a bit of discount though.

I hope they can sort it all for you.
Mine was confident ordering all the bits but VW Germany ruined it.
It might just be because of my lack of sliding doors though so fingers crossed you be ok
So far I have front and rear bumper parts (everything)
Both sill trim silver parts and one lower front door piece.
I will check this afternoon to see what's happening.

Perhaps between us we'll end up with one full kit!! I'll keep this post updated in case I'm successful and you can call my dealer! He reckoned quite a few bits were available already in UK stock and only few bits on back order with VW Germany.

At last a positive update! Getting a long list of stuff done at APS. Andy the technician, has fitted a 2010 subframe so that we can run the SuperPro Supaloy control arms with the anti lift kit. The 2011 onwards subframe on the Caddy isn't compatible with this kit. The 2010 subframe is a direct fit. I'll get some pics up later as its very shiny!

Yes the facelift vans have a black steel welded together subframe and the earlier ones have a cast silver coloured subframe

Brakes progressing but not without issues!



APS are going to get Goodrich to make up the longer hoses and they'll also make some custom brackets to mount them properly. Needs different hard lines too. I've ended up leaving the van with them for a few days so they don't have to rush all the little jobs. As Ed the boss said, he'd rather they did it right the first time than have to keep tweaking it.

And Superchips weren't prepared to try and remap it so its getting a Revo map instead.

I've also had the levelling and cornering module added to the xenons. Hazzy Dayz did great job. Nice bunch of lads too. Just got a coding update to sort out for me so the LEDs will be on with the xenons.

Static cornering bulb is in the headlight and works really well. I'm glad its not the system with a fog light that turns on as that looks like the lights aren't working!

The discs are actually cheap. Not sure of final cost as there's all the custom stuff. The calipers were refurbs from eBay. £350 for the fronts.

The control arm kit is £540 plus fitting. Its actually cost another £600 for the front subframe and all the bolts.

Woohoo. Look what just arrived. Shame I haven't got a van to put them in until next week!







They are so comfortable. Having been in my Golf R32 Konigs for 8 years, its nice to finally have a high quality bucket seat for the Caddy.
