I actually knew Fred Crouch. I was a bit of a face in the world of barbel fishing 15-20 years ago hence my user name. Now that is a group of middle aged blokes even more sad than us on here

Thanks Sean. When I got the van (5 years ago ) I three stage machine polished the whole thing which was days of graft to do properly. I’ve done it once more in that time too when I’ve noticed that it’s needed it. In between those occasions it’s just a matter of maintenance and good wash techniques to avoid swirls as bad wash habits are the cause of dull swirly scratched paintwork which means lack of gloss. The gloss on my van is not down to any one product, in fact I have so many polishes, coatings, sealants, ceramics etc that it’s got something different on it after virtually every wash. That said, despite what most people think, it only gets washed maybe 6 times a year.

Once you have that gloss a car tends to still look shiny even when it’s filthy dirty.
