Today I tried to suss out what was causing the strange smell, but failed in that quest.
I’ve had the parts and the mfsw lying around for ages. So today I fitted all of them, the cruise stalk and the wiper stalk. I also ran the cable for the cruise control
I just need to source some new buttons for the left hand side of the mfsw

Today I got the passenger side window converted to electric, also replaced the speaker for the vibe slick that I'd put on the old door and finally cut the door card down to match.
Got a little surprise that the door card light came on as I thought it had to be coded in.
If the weather stays nice tomorrow I will hopefully get the driver side done

Been a bit quiet lately and had a chance to go to the breakers this afternoon in the hope of some touran wings. They had none of any use, but I did manage to pick these up
So i had a search on the good old bay and came across these
Has anyone tried using these or similar? As I was just wondering what the fit would be like or would it be better sticking with Vw wings?

It cost me a crate of beer for a bit of help with the electrics for the windows (mates a mechanic) and a little bit of perseverance.
The pedals are off a golf gti. I paid £50 for all 3 at a breakers that’s local to me.
They did have more in and were advertising on their eBay shop. Don’t know if it’s against rules to mention the name though

I bought the inner panel, door loom and door cards from a touran.
Once I had these it was a case of running a new switched live to each door.
The top of each door card needs trimming to the profile of the caddy door.
It took about half a day to do the switch over. Also once you get your posts up there is a bit of a how to on the conversion

On Friday the van was in for the final test fit of the new bumper as i finally got all the grills together and was sent a couple of pictures of how it looks
Just got to get our heads together to sort out painting.
Also had the heater fan out, oiled it over 2 days and the smell is still there. I also ran it out of the housing and I’m certain it’s the motor.

At the time I bought it it was £299. It’s a great piece of kit and connects to your phone with Bluetooth. Only problem is they supposedly have a common fault (that won’t be admitted to) in that a cpu goes on them and mine has just went in the last couple of weeks. It’s out of warranty and costs roughly £240 to be sent away and replaced

Tell me about it, so I’m now on the look out for a new head unit that has all or similar features to that one

Ouch that’s harsh on the head unit, I have a pioneer avic f80 head unit cost me £700 amazing features though with really good eq if your into your tunes, hope they have no issues as my warranty is nearly up.
Anyways cracking work on your van coming on grand, front bumper will make a huge difference.
