2020 Caddy 5 press launch and information

Post by the swan fiend »

The white one with the black roof looks very smart IMO. The interior looks very drab with plastic everywhere. A smattering of aluminium or even fake carbon fibre wouldn’t have hurt.

Does the new dash have a quality feel about it Doc? Well done on the pics too mate

Doc has managed to get a shot of the new rear suspension. Looks like they’ll be loads of these on air suspension then.

The maxi actually looks better than the swb. I think purely because that’s the first picture I’ve seen without a sliding door.

Also, the white one with the black grill, make a big difference.

That rear axle we can put under the mk4 and mk3 (FL) lol and from a tiguan you already can take the display and code it in a existing caddy... for sure the technique has changed after 16 years, however the design part of it... Ford mixed with VW. That bulkhead is from a connect. The editor version looks the best, but prefer the panels of the 2K(5) shape, they should have kept that in the design of a new caddy.

Thought I'd see if a new front bumper, air suspension and wheels made it look better...........

I think the maxi looks good actually. The SWB looks a bit stubby to me. If you can make a bumper like that Dan, I think you’ll have some customers in a year or so.

I think the bit I really don’t like is the front bumper. You hit the nail on the head with your description Stu. Fortunately that’s an easy fix!

I agree also about the maxi. Was never a fan of the old one, something about its dimensions looked awkward to me but this one actually looks good.

I’m surprised to see the maxi only having 1 sliding door though. I wonder if both vans will be available with 1 or 2 door options?

I’m just thinking, surely it wouldn’t have taken much more effort to come up with a much smarter front bumper like what Dan has just designed? After all it’s just plastic moulding.
