Looks pretty funny with the stock 15" steelies
Started to do the axle flip on the rear, and both the leaf springs have rusted out and snapped right in the middle

Cracked on with it regardless, now just have to wait for some new ones to arrive
Oh no! Disaster with the leaf spring. Thought those things were pretty robust.

I went for these simply because I love the look of them

Most other wheels at this price point all look the same, and I wanted something different!
I know they will fit, as my brother's Caddy has rims with the same size/width/offset.
Didn't want 19" wheels as I would have to have a lower profile tyre then, and didn't want the rougher ride that would come with that.
Tyres are 225/40/18 Firestone Firehawk SZ90, bought them from wheelbase with tyres fitted and balanced.
Bigger brakes may be on the cards in the future, but the mod list is growing, and that is probably near the bottom lol
Thanks for writing up the details on the rims and tyres, they look really nice!!

Sorry if ive missed this but what front springs did you fit? Cheers
They are the Eibach ones with 60mm drop, from eBay with the RoadNutz shackle kit, I bought the wobble blocks from darkside developments too whic,h is supposed to reduce the rear axle side-to-side movement, which is apparently more noticeable when lowered

Finally sorted the rear axle and fitted the new rims!
Originally had it lowered 60mm front and back, but the rear was sitting a bit high considering I don't put much weight in the back, so I dropped it another 10mm
Also did a detail, got some new plates made.
Next up will be painting the rear bumper and side trims, and maybe some caddy life mirrors

Yeah it's quite a scary thought!
I think even with the spring snapped, the sandwich plates would keep the whole assembly together enough to keep it from falling apart, but at least we found out before it was too late!!

Defo, I think it was what was holding my old spring in place before I hit her with the lowering stick. At least the springs are easy enough to replace tbf

Just some little mods to pass the time:
Gloss black spoiler and black VW badge with white inlay
Bought some cheap handle covers off eBay, not very good quality and look a bit crap up close, but they will do until I eventually paint the handles.
Also got a gloss black badge for the front, but it doesn’t work with the front assist! May try a badge overlay if I can find one.

Finally got round to carpeting and sound deadening the back of the van, the bulkhead is pretty worn so decided to carpet both sides of that also.
I started by closing the gaps in the bulkhead with some dodomat
Looks much better, and should cut down on noise a lot too
Sides carpetted
Ply lined the floor and stuck some cheap Lino down, also carpeted the bottom trim as it was pretty worn
Decided to fully carpet the rear doors, covers the security bars on the rear windows, and looks a lot cleaner imo
Very happy with how it’s looking now!
Got some maxi mirrors, colour matched rear bumper, and sliding door trim to paint and fit next!

You've done yourself (and your Caddy) proud
Bulk head looks good as do the doors
Top notch job

Thanks dude!
It took much longer than expected and lots of swearing involved, but I’m pretty happy with the result
