Good job cleaning the carpets mate. I got a set of touran carpets for mine a few weeks ago and got them fitted. If u decide to get the heaters working on ur seats theres a few guys on here that make the looms and usually have the control panels aswell so u can get it all in one. I didnt bother with the touran bases when i fitted my A5 seats, just drilled the caddy bases. Good luck cleaning the seats. G101 is good for cleaning them if can get ur hands on sum.

Cheers.

I have G101 actually. Never thought to use that. I gave them a quick blast with some Surfex HD to get the worst of the surface stuff off. I have some Gyeon Leather Cleaner I was gonna try next, and have some leather balms and protection stuff if I can get them clean enough looking.

Look OK after the initial hit. But once you get closer, they are still a bit grubby. They will be fine for my sweaty butt, but the wife might be pickier.

The wife will for sure care about the heated seats, but realistically, she has 3 other motors to choose from all with heated seats. I NEVER use heated seats, so makes zero difference to me. That said, if the next set are heated, then I will want them working. I don't know how much a new loom will cost, but that's really the bit I don't want to pay for just now for these, ha ha. If I were to get something like A7 seats, or RS3 seats or something (like I could get new seats for my Golf R and put them in here), then I won't mind paying for the loom for that.

I had initially planned on fitting it all tomorrow. But I am still waiting on the sound deadening to come, so I'll put off the fitting until next week. Thought might as well slap some sound deadening down while everything is out of there. So just waiting on that and I'm good to go.

Oh yeah, not sure how I could forget this.

I bought some wheels for it. Was looking around and knew I wanted to run Cross Climate tyres on it and only have one set of wheels for this, for a change. So knew I didn;t want to have to pay for 19" CC's. So 18's it is.

Found these reasonably local, and cheap enough. Bought for the tyres (2 CC 2's and 2 CC3 Sports) all with decent tread. They are reps, which isn't what I'd usually go for. But the tyres alone was almost worth it. So they will do until I find a set I really like.

Probably needs a drop now.

Also, despite being assured it would be fine for a service until the summer, it pinged at me asking for a service. So gave it the works.

I used g101 on my seats and they came up good. They were advertised as silver grey and looked like it in the pics but when they came there more of an ivory colour but couldnt be bothered with the hastle of sending them back so i just kept them and there much better that the standard ones with loads of adjustment. They wheels look good on it but like u said it probably could do with dropping a bit. If ur interested iv got a pair of front stance coilovers that are 6 month old if ur ever down my way? Complete with top mounts, just ready to fit. Would do them cheep for u.

Where are you again? And how cheap? lol. My wife will be coming home from Arran today.

I was thinking of just going for Eibach / H&R with the Darkside rear setup, and sticking on new KYB shocks while in there. But that might be worth a look. Wasn't REALLY looking to go straight away. What setup you got now then?

Sorry mate iv been out all day. Im near glasgow. £60 for u. Iv got standard front shocks now with eibach -45 springs. I liked it low but theres too many speed bumps round my way. And axle flip on the back which i raised up to the last hole on the shackles.still lowered but much better on the speed bumps.

No worries. She is now home anyway. Was having a look at options and think I'm more likely to go for the H&R kit from Darkside. Maybe.

Although I am in Glasgow on Tuesday, and £60 does feel cheap, ha ha. If only I could get as cheap and axel flip kit too, ha ha.

I did get the seats cleaned. Came up not too bad. Found some AutoGlym Leather Cleaner, and some Gyeon Leather cleaner so gave them two hits. And they needed them. Then found some leather conditioner (can't remember whose though). So they are now ready to go in. Hopefully.

Been off work this week, as was the wife, so had a pretty busy week. Went down to Glasgow late Monday night, went to Gorillaz concert with the kids Tuesday. Drove back Wednesday. So after spending the morning procastinating, I decided to start on removing the interior from the cab today. Got it all out, cleaned, and just over half of it sound deadened before the light left and the rain came. So tomorrows job is to finish off the sound deadening, then start installing the carpets and new seats. Hopefully I can get it back together before the light leaves me again. That said, I do have a couple meetings for work tomorrow, so hopefully I get enough time.

I do have some pics, but I'll post them when all done. (There are a couple in the what I did to my car today thread).

Dunno if ur going to do ur doors with the sound deadening, but i did mine for no other reason than to get rid of the tinny sound when i shut the door. What a difference! It sounds like closing the door on an audi or a golf. Worth doing for the noise alone.

I have done the cabin now, and struggling with the seats, ha ha.

Maybe after I get back from the next hitch I'll tackle the doors.

Well that was a mission. Some family emergencies slowed things down significantly in getting the carpets and new seats in. Then I discovered I broke the accelerator pedal clips when removing it. So that's sub optimal. Looked at 3 other pedals off marketplace. Every single one of them with broken clips. Decided I would just have to bite the bullet and buy a new one. £200 though ffs. So got out the super glue, and we will see how it goes.

But eventually got there. Carpets and seats in. Cabin sound deadened (not the doors yet). Got some carpet mats too, and even one for the back. Just because. That doesn't fit perfectly, due to the shape of the ply lining. But it'll work for now at least.

Some pics:

And the back:

So, all that's left is to take it for a test drive and see how it is.

Lookin good mate! Seats came up well too. If its any consolation i broke a clip on the pedal but seams to be holding ok with just the one and the bolt holding it. There was so much dirt and grit under it i couldnt get it to come out without any damage. Hope ur repair holds. Whats next to do??

Heading offshore today / tomorrow. So will be away for a couple weeks. When I get back I'll probably sound deaden the doors. And get a rearview camera installed.

I do actually have enough material to do a lot of the back too. Bought a roll of the Dodomat Duo Pro. But dunno if I want to do that "in stages" as I don't plan on actually doing the rear until the summer. Was planning the Duo on the roof and sides, and might run out at that point. So might see if I have enough of my other stuff to do the wheel arches.

Beyond that, no other plans as yet. Still trying to figure out what I want to do for dropping it. Pretty sure I'll go H&R now. But trying to decide if I go for the coilover kit, or just stick some new KYB shocks in there with the springs / axel flip, and save a bit of money.

I have been toying with the idea of trying to get a bumper and having a go at painting it myself. But dunno if I'm brave enough for that yet.

I have just fully paid off my T6.1 Caravelle though, so leaves a bit more budget now for playing with this. Or the Golf R. Maybe the Golf R is the better place to spend money, ha ha.
