The ECU for the DSG gearbox is in the gearbox, so swapping gearbox swaps the ecu

How have you got on with the 170 box over this period? all good?
Might start the hunt for one for mine soon

I have (104) dsg which has only done 80,000 but is not very smoth and a bit sloopy.Vw told me there is no problem, but spoke to my mechanic and he said i must match engine numbers exactly. I am now excited and will start looking. Thanks for the great R&D.

Hi is anybody else done this??? What year caddy do u have ?? And what year or car did the 170 come out of ?? Any info please as I’m trying to find a gearbox now

You might not get a reply from the guys in this post, it is over 5 years since the last post.
I'd have thought any of the VW DQ250 boxes will work, just make sure it's from a diesel or the ratios and programming will be all wrong.
Golf, Passat, Touran, Sharan, Scirocco, A3, Leon, Octavia, Alhambra, Q3 (fwd) should all be suitable donors.
