I came looking for interior ideas and have now sat and read through your entire thread. I'll definitely be looking at the golf coin tray mod on the centre console before wrapping it in suede. How was the Touran glove box to fit up to the original dash, was there much cutting of the dash involved and would it be possible to do without removing it? An amazing Caddy and it's safe to say I'll be disappointed driving mine home today!

Thanks for taking the time to read it all!

The glovebox was fitted by Matt at Reflex so I haven’t got any advice I’m afraid.

Do these arches work ok with mud flaps? I quite fancy a set but also live rural so don't want to sacrifice the mud flaps to be able to fit them
Thanks

Ok, I will do some more digging. Might still order anyway & just attack the mud flaps with a dremel.
Thanks

Really cool build I love the attention to detail and changing the bits and bobs others might not think off.

Well its been a while since I had anything to show but a recent fault developed in the air suspension wiring that meant it was not powering up and after all these years decided to finally sort out the rats nest under the passenger seat.

Full disclaimer, when the caddy was first put on air ride, intermotiv knew it was going off for a full interior build and so he fudged something together to get the single compressor running. This has then been bodged and messed about with going to other places and finally the setup was changed to a 2 compressor system. This therefore is not a fair representation of his work but I wanted to show the before and after.

Image

I realised that the 2nd compressor wiring was wrong and now I believe it was never running. I bought the air lift 2nd compressor loom and correctly spliced that in. I also added superseal plugs at either end of the compressor power and ground wires to make servicing and fault finding easier.

I then packaged everything up on a piece of aluminium angle that could be mounted under the floor behind the passenger seat.

Image

This is the final installation with a battery isolator switch to also make it easier to service/fault find. I also spent some time shortening all the air lines and labelling everything plus I added anti chafe sleeving that matches the air lift looms.

Image

Changed the glass fuse in the engine bay to a proper vw style 80a midi fuse running off the main bus bar (on the far right) and swapped out the stereo install style power cable for oe style red.

Image

Designed a lid for the air ride fuse box on sketchup

Image

and then 3d printed it (ended up printing the lid part separately to the base to save on support material and then glued the 2 parts togther)

Image

Painted with a few coats of high build primer and a grey/bronze paint (and paint pens for the logo)

Image

and then installed

Image

Along the way I found a wire that was rubbing on the only piece of exposed metal on a hole so repaired that and put a piece of edge protector on the hole

Image

I've found and fixed a few other issues but still can't find the air leak from the front left strut - replaced the leader hose and re cut the air line going to it - so my guess is its to do with the bag and maybe the top o ring.

I'm now stuck replacing the rear air bags as I need new air fittings and bolts so its stuck on jacks.

Nice to see this Caddy getting some attention once more, I was starting to think you'd forgotten about it.
Your work looks second to none, very tidy.
The printed cover for the fuses and isolator looks awesome, those who build systems "professionally" could take a leaf from your book.
