While I was under the bonnet I noticed the gaping holes near the wipers. Thanks to a link on here I found some right sized plugs for about a quid.

Whered you get the plugs from mate?

^^^ got them from eBay. Just checked the original item order and seller no longer has them unfortunately. However they were not specific parts for this application, just look for 30mm diameter plastic or rubber pipe bungs or end caps.

New update for the Carista app dropped and has new customisations available so for no other reason than “it’s cool” I’ve enabled needle sweep.

Went to Vanstyle a couple of weeks ago and picked up some replica Sportline sidebars, if the rain holds off tomorrow I’ll be fitting them.

The original eBay seller no longer appears to have them (link not working), so just look for 30mm plastic bungs or pipe ends. They should fit.

Fitted new sidebars from Vanstyle. Very easy to fit into existing holes in the sills, all brackets & fixings supplied in kit. I decided to upgrade the nuts to nyloc type (M8) for additional security.

Also removed the roof rails, and replaced with the genuine OE bolts, they have a rubber seal around the head so should be leak-proof.



Just trying to decide whether I'm keeping or selling the roof rails, will put them in the relevant section if selling.

Thanks, it's not just the Life that has no bulkhead AFAIK. I think these are the models with no bulkhead:

Caddy Life & Maxi Life - passenger vehicle MPV or van derived car (Maxi = LWB)
Caddy Window Van - as above with slightly more spartan interior & basic specification
Caddy Kombi - LWB commercial crew van with rear seats
The regular panel van can be specified with bulkhead delete no-cost option or easily removed afterwards, although if it's removed at factory you get rear view mirror and lighting in the load area.

I asked my local VWCV centre why there were multiple versions that all seemed to cross over and he said that it was mostly down to models registered as vans or MPV cars, and whether they were VAT qualifying or not.

Am I right in thinking that the caddy and maxi life as MPV are not subject to the lower speed limits?

Correct although any van meeting criteria in link below won’t either if it qualifies as a dual purpose vehicle, I think this will include Kombi or any van that has been retrofitted as such.

Was starting to get a few knocks on the rear bumper, unavoidable with a couple of dogs and a few bikes, so picked up one of these from TPS, £49 inc VAT and being the genuine part, fits very well, all adhesive & primer included in the kit. Part number is ZGB-2K0-071-205.
