Made a little start on trimming some interior bits.
Still planning out what to do with it at the moment…

i see you have a complete engine bay harness from the donor car,
is there anything you need to do to convert it to the caddy harness?
I am looking at doing the same thing, i have the donor car ready, but want to be sure i have everything required before dismantling.

There are only a few wires you actually need from the tfsi loom. Then there is removing the tdi wires from the loom in the caddy. Along with anything else tdi that’s not needed, such as relays fuse box and holder etc.
So when it’s done it’s still original caddy loom with tfsi wires added into it.
So you need to loom out of the tfsi donor, fuse box and holder, ecu etc.

Some very smart mods here mate. Looks like it’s going to be a great build. It’s good to see no splicing being done on the loom. If I ever had a petrol conversion. I’d insist it was done that way too.

Is everything in the frontend identical to the MK7 or is there any modding to be done in order to fit the aluminium bits?
Loving the work so far!

It’s all Mk5 based chassis.
Hubs and arms are mk6 Passat with caddy polly bushes fitted. Subframe is early caddy or golf Mk5.
Later caddy’s are steel subframe.

Amazing build! What’s your timeframe on completing it? Will you be keeping it looking fairly stock or will the front and rear get custom treatments to the respective bumpers?

@ToiletTFSI
Thanks for clarifying!
I'm new to the caddy scene, but already have some plans and appreciate the inspiration I can find here

@EvilC
Thanks… am not a massive fan of modded bumpers, esp rear ones. So mainly simple look but with some subtle touches.
