This colourful and sometimes spicy language seems to be a common theme for most things Caddy lol
The result is worth the language and the pain !!

Looking good, it’s surprising how much better it looks just changing to the colour coded bumper!

Thanks mate! It does make a huge difference, the rear bumper, side trims, rear door trim and mirrors should all be colour coded by this weekend, so it should look even nicer!

And you’ve just reminded me! I bought the side trims to paint and swap on my van a while ago, the black plastic fades terribly! I need to get them done

Spent a whole day colour coding all the trim and caddy life mirrors, only to find that the paint was miles off

Lesson learned, don’t buy paint from advancedpaints.co.uk again, or at least do a test first



Just popped to a local paint supplier and got an aerosol can made up that will hopefully be a better match!

In better news, I got the engine remapped to 180bhp by Craig at ozmo-motorsport.co.uk in Dorchester.
Super knowledgeable guy who made the engine run amazing, pulls like a train now!

Went to a local paint shop and got a can of 2k paint mixed up and it’s a much better match! Left over night to dry, then it’s time to polish and fit it all



Carpeted the roof and added some holes for some down lights, ignore the carpet bulging out I sorted that lol



Lovely and bright in the back now! Also wired a switch so I can turn them off when needed, will add a permanent feed to it in the future.



Carpeted bulkheads in now also, had a bit of a happy accident where I didn’t trim the ply floor enough for the bulkhead to slide in front of, but because of that the bulkhead now sits a little further back, and I can recline the seat much further back



Now onto making holes for the reversing sensor in the new rear bumper, was a bit scary, but the Sealey pdc tool I bought made it super easy.



Glad I bought the tool and didn’t just try to drill them, as it did a really clean job!



Not bad at all!



Getting the bumper and sensors into place however was a bit of a struggle!



Thank god that’s over

Rear door trim colour matched and fitted



Caddy life mirrors and painted side trim installed



So glad to get rid of those awful side mirrors!

Would love to see a pic / link to that drill bit thingies for the sensors, sounds like a worthy investment

As someone who has only done simple stuff like oil changes and brake pads I have to admit I am proper chuffed with the result

Yep this is for the original Vw sensors from the old bumper, new one didn’t have the holes so I had to cut them and fit the sensor holders inside the bumper too.
Other sensors should tell you the size of hole you need to make, just need to buy the right size tool

So yeah, need to buy size dependant tool (unless they provide it with the sensors - which I doubt !!)

How easy was the wiring ?

The stock speakers are shocking, so I decided to swap them out. I started by adding some sound deadening to the inner and outer skin of each door. I added more to the top of the door after this pic.



Speaker adaptors and new speakers in! I used adhesive foam to seal both the adaptors and speakers to improve the sound, also added a strip of sound deadening on the adaptors to stop them from resonating, as they are flimsy plastic. Also added a thick foam strip around the speaker to direct the sound through the door card.



Tweeters installed in the doors, I messed up one of the holes so carpeted the panels, might replace with something nicer in the future.



Speakers are Focal ASE165, and are a massive improvement over stock, and sound amazing for the price!

I already swapped the main/dipped beam for osram night breakers and that made a huge difference, so swapped the drl lamps to something whiter to match.

Swapped out the last bit of chrome, now have a gloss black caddy badge on the back



A quick wash and she’s looking good!

The original bumper had the sensors and wiring already so was just a case of swapping them into the new bumper

The tweeters are very discreet
Shame for the blunder ... Might be a more OEM look to get a new plastic pillar piece than to cover in carpet ....

They sound great too!
Yeah they carpet does stick out a bit
Planning to cover the A pillars with some nice material in the future, so will do the pillar trim to match
