Some say”including ARP” that you should line bore the rods when fitting these due to the extra tensile of the bolts. I’ve spoke to various people and read lots on the vr6 and apparently it’s not critical that this is done as the rods are pretty hefty! Well I have a spare crankshaft and a sense of humour so I’m going to put the theory to test and see what happens just fitting them. Equally they are now considerably cheaper than OEM stretch bolts due to Vw’s astronomical revision of parts prices that are an absolute joke at the minute!!!!

Inspirational work there my friend! I have big plans to drop either a 3.2 or 3.6 into my mk4 soon, just looking for a low km engine. Hard to come by here in New Zealand

Well, got the supercharger stage 3 setup complete and went back up to see the boys at stealth for a live remap. Unfortunately the fuelling was all over the place and after a morning of tweaking it wasn’t proving to be, Vince seem to think that maybe I’ve been stung with counterfeit injectors.

So after this defeat I got talking to them and they think I’m over complicating it to get. Well.. not the power delivery I want.……..well long and short I’m scrapping the supercharger idea and going big turbo now!! so it’s back to the shed and pull the engine for forged internals. The time has come for BIG power

Glad you’re enjoying the thread though.
I have a question actually regarding coding for ABS module. Did your touran ABS support the haldex or like me did you need to change the module? I’ve got an R32 one to go on but not quite got around to fitting it yet!

Low comp wossner pistons (to do away with the head spacer)
Forged Conrods
Krabifab tubular manifold
Pulsar gtx35/84 Gen3 turbo
Pulsar 45mm wastegate
3” stainless down pipe
45mm screamer pipe
Bosch 715cc injectors @ 3 bar
4” maf body with sensor
4” intake pipe with silicone joiners + filter
Forge over size blow off valve
Short runner aluminium Inlet manifold
300x600 FMIC intercooler
This should put me in excessive of 550BHP 🫨

So some vr6 3.2 engines didn’t come factory with a forged crank. So for those that might be interested the best way to tell is by the rounded journals. Always worth checking this before you launch a shit load of boost down its throat.
